Black Velvet (and inspirations)

OK so I've been working on a few new ideas for my shop, but decided that before I start getting fancy with patterns, lace, and beading, I needed to add a simple, yet CLASSIC collar to my shop. If you though "BLACK VELVET!" then you were right! I know velvet is more of a wintery fabric, but I'm really feeling a "good-girl-gone-bad" vibe for this Spring's trends . . . you know, the cropped leather jacket paired with  a daisy-print dress . . . which, of course, is nothing a black velvet peter collar can't make even MORE edgy, sophisticated, devil-may-care, etc . . . (whatever you want to call it!)
Anyways, I am sewing a few right now, AS I AM TYPING THIS POST (yes, I am the world's greatest multitasker.) Be sure to check my shop soon, but I promise to keep you updated on the blog :)

And with all that said and done, here are a few of my inspirations this month. A little Marilyn Monroe, Classic Rock, Dried flowers, Coffee and Tea, Reading, Sunshine, Baths, and lots of Daisies. Basically all the good things in the world. See more on my WeHeartIt!

April 1st--- Spring Spring Spring!

First off, I would like to apologize for my long absence . . . yes, I'm still alive!
I've been really busy working on a small collection for Spring, which should be up on my shop tomorrow.

Spring! Previews, Thoughts, and Inspiration

First of all I hope everyone is enjoying the first day of Spring as much as I am!
To celebrate, I designed a new scalloped faux-leather collar, which will be up on the shop in the next few days! A little sweet, and a little devil-may-care, don't you think?

And of course there's nothing that says "Spring" like waking up and eating a TON of strawberries for breakfast!
Below are some fabrics that will be making their way to the shop in the coming months.
I'm thinking of making double-sided collars and using relating patterns. . . what do you think? Any fabric suggestions?
And here are some of my favorite things right now. Click on the numbers below for the sources.

Item Sneak Peek

The shop will be up very soon!
Keep checking in for updates.

Shop Update and Inspiration!

I'm putting together the finishing touches on a couple of items and am waiting on the arrival of a couple of supplies in the mail. With that said, I believe I will be able to open my shop by this coming Monday, the 12th of March. Hopefully, if everything goes smoothly, I will open a few days earlier! I really can't wait! Opening up a shop has taken a lot more work than I had expected, but I am happy with the results so far. Stay tuned for more updates!
Meanwhile, here are some of my recent inspirations for the shop . . .

I've always wanted to go to Paris!

Although I can't travel right now, my dear friend Cool Cat certainly can. I will be selling this print on my shop very soon, of Cool Cat's packing essentials for Paris! Cool Cat's stellar taste and helpful advice may aid you in packing light, while still remaining stylish! Abientot!

Welcome!

Hello and Welcome!

I'm My and I am a Los Angeles-based Artist and Student.
I am a lover of fashion and truly believe it is one of the greatest means of self-expression. Personally, I am attracted mostly to vintage clothing and think that, fashion-wise, I would have been better off living in the 50's and dressing like Audrey Hepburn. Nevertheless, I am inspired by styles ranging from the streamlined 30's, to the dark Victorian of the 70's.

As an artist, I've always been drawn to small details. When drawing, I prefer to focus on the intricacies of the human eye, rater than capturing the whole person. The same goes for my fashion taste. I have favored designers, such as Miu Miu and Chloe, for their impeccable attention to detail. The intricate beading, delicate pleats, carved heels, and crisp collars have inspired and transformed my personal style.
I began making collars after falling in love with the Miu Miu Spring 2010 collection. Two years later, after perfecting my own patterns, I decided to share my creations with the Etsy community!

This blog is a journal of my creations and the inspirations behind them. Follow me and join the creative process!

I hope you enjoy!
